Welcome to the 13th Subud World Congress 4th – 18th January 2010
Programme

Programme

We are happy to announce that Ibu Rahayu has accepted the WSA’s invitation to attend the World Congress. A very important feature of the program for the Congress will be her talks, as well as the testing sessions with Ibu.

Miranda Wilson has been appointed to coordinate the scheduling of workshops.  Official WSA workshops, wings and affiliates workshops and also workshops proposed by members.  If you have a particular request concerning workshops, please write to Miranda:  programme@subudworldcongress2010.com

We are currently designing the programme for Congress. In keeping with the spirit of New Zealand, we would like to have a relaxed, open and wide Congress.

The Congress will start with kejiwaan activities prior to the Opening Ceremony on the evening of the 5th January. Every morning and evening there is a time slot for latihan, and the Congress venues provide ample space for all our meeting needs.

There will be many opportunities to make new friends and relax especially during the gathering days prior to the Closing Ceremony on the 17th January, when no business meetings are scheduled. There will be a festival of cultural events every day and time for outings to the wilderness of the South Island.

This Congress will be a special time to fortify the expression of the latihan in our lives and work. There will be plenty of workshops and activities open to everyone that strengthen and deepen our experience and understanding of the latihan. Throughout the Congress, there will be workshops that explore how we can apply the latihan to aspects of everyday life such as in our families, relationships, work and awareness. There will be experiential sessions on topics such as creativity, starting new projects, inner culture, and being oneself, and discussions on important issues such as sustainable development and human centred education.

The programme for delegates depends a lot on the issues that the countries bring to the table. WSA invites everyone to join in during 2009 by preparing the various themes and issues that need to be decided at Congress. We aim to make the delegate programme focus on what is really important such as the main priorities for Subud, because the Congress provides an important opportunity to bring our organization forward.

In addition to this, WSA and the wings will be arranging workshops on different aspects of the work of Subud, such as helper’s role, supporting projects, and various training programs and project presentations.

The program for the World Congress is still under construction. We welcome everyone’s ideas and input on issues you feel should be looked at, as well as themes for workshops.  Please help us create the spaces for what you hope to find, and a program for an ideal World Congress. As we define the program, we shall update it on-line.
